Christian Unified Schools

Christian Unified Schools of San Diego was founded in 1965. There are 1200 students on three suburban campuses in grades K-12. The school system seeks to provide a first class learning experience marked by academic excellence and a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Language support and regular mainstreamed classes (including Advanced Placement and Honors) are scheduled after testing when international students arrive. Eight language-support classes, developed after the Cognitive Academic Language Learning Approach, are provided if needed. Involvement in sports, fine arts, volunteering, trips, and other activities is encouraged.

International students live in host families, which can afford students opportunities to practice their developing English and social skills. Home-stays are arranged by parents, relatives and placement agencies.
