Chaminade College Preparatory School

Chaminade is an all-boys Catholic school located in the suburban St. Louis township of Creve Coeur just 20 minutes from downtown. Known as the gateway to the west, St. Louis straddles the Mississippi River and is surrounded by green rolling hills and farmland. Creve Coeur has a population of 17,000 with 72% of the area being residential.

Chaminade is the first fully integrated, wireless laptop campus in Missouri. All students and faculty have IBM laptops for academic and personal use. The college prep curriculum challenges students to attain superior ability and includes over 100 hours of college credit courses. Over 75% of graduates receive college scholarships.

Chaminade’s boarding student program affords a small-school caring atmosphere with all the advantages and programs of a larger school. Seventeen varsity sports, numerous activities, required community service programs, and the “Chaminade Family” (students, faculty, parents and alumni) help to form well-rounded men!

Dormitories and School Residences

The dormitory can accommodate up to 75 students. The dormitories have single and double rooms on two levels with 5-6 adult resident staff apartments. Supervision of the dormitory is under the direction of the Resident Director. The dormitory has wireless internet access for all rooms. Cellular telephones are allowed and pay phones are available. There are three recreation rooms with TV and game tables.

Extracurricular activities

• Sports: 17 high school sports, including American football, soccer, cross country, basketball, wrestling, swimming and diving, ice hockey, track and field, tennis, bowling, racquetball, golf, lacrosse, rugby, baseball, water polo, and volleyball.
• Clubs & Activities: Over 25 clubs and organizations in which to participate. These include Art clubs, Biology club, Campus Ministry, yearbook, school newspaper, film club, Chess Club, Liturgical Choir, Math clubs, National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, photography club, model rocket club, drama and school musicals. Chaminade offers an excellent instrumental music program. There are beginners and intermediate levels, concert band, symphonic band and three jazz ensembles.
• Weekend Activities: A schedule of weekend activities is available to boarding students. Regular activities include trips to the movie theatre, local malls, and area restaurants. Special weekend activities include tickets to Six Flags (amusement park), the Blues (Ice hockey) and the Rams (Football)
